On the Rise: The Pickup Artist

vh1-the-pickup-artist-season-2Damn, I’m good at spotting talent.

My two big pickups for this week?

Miles Plumlee: 27.6 % owned

NBA: Indiana Pacers at Dallas Mavericks

Miles had 15 boards and 18 points in his season debut for the Phoenix Suns, also managing to get 40 mins of PT. With Martin Gortat out of the lineup, the struggling Suns want to use him as much as possible this season, and let’s be real, you wanna play anyone who gets 40 mins a game. I can see him averaging double-doubles, as his athletic ability is very rare given his huge size. He’s like a Blake Griffin with a brain. And if there’s anything we’ve learned from the Brothers Plumlee, it is that they are not afraid to put the hard hat on and go to work. Love this pickup!

Lance Stephenson: 23.4 % owned

Two good games in a row is good enough for me to add Stephenson and drop George Hill. Starting in place of Danny Granger, Stephenson is averaging almost 38.5 mins a game and is finding his shot. He scores, get boards, and logs assists very steadily so far, and hopefully, this is a precursor to the rest of the season for him. Look for the Pacers to continue to rely on this guy for the immediate future. I sure am!
